Holiday Presence Playshop Dec. 7:  An Asheville benefit for the homeless

Posted on Nov 12, 2008

What keeps you from truly enjoying the holidays with yourself, family and friends? Find out at a Holiday Presence Playshop, where you can experience the spaciousness of time without agenda–doing nothing and yet everything gets done. The Playshop is Sunday, December 7, from 2:00pm to 5:30pm, and will be led by Meg MacLeod and Lorrie Streifel.

Is it true that I “have” to do a thing? Without that thought, do I experience expanded time, resources and effectiveness? Doing nothing and yet everything gets done. You’ll get to find your own questions and answers in this Playshop, with movement, inquiry, story, reflection, song and stillness.
Like Jess Fawn, you get to play, reflect and clear your mind for a more relaxed holiday season. You may be surprised at how refreshing and easy it is lubricate your body-wisdom’s creativity, enter the flow of expanded time and notice untapped resources inside you and around you, in a playful, affirming community.

All are welcome: no prior experience needed.  Lorrie is a long-time student of Zen Buddhism and is a licensed Social Worker and has staffed the Byron Katie School of the Work. Meg brought InterPlay to Asheville, staffed several Schools of the Work, and is a facilitator on the free Hotline for the Work of Byron Katie (http://www.thework.com).

Proceeds will benefit local homeless shelters. Suggested donation: $25-$45 and/or bring non-perishable foods, or jackets, sweaters, warm scarves, hats, gloves, blankets, socks, toys in good working order. The Holiday Presence workshop is at the Grace Episcopal Church, 871 Merrimon Ave, Asheville, NC 28804. Info at 828-254-6484 or megfrolic@yahooo.com.
